Personal Expression, Communication, and Presentation Skills

Presenting with Confidence

Effective presentation skills can make the difference between an initiative that stalls, and one that moves forward with support and buy-in. The most persuasive presenters deliver their ideas clearly, demonstrate confidence and enthusiasm, and handle objections with poise.

This program is for anyone who is called upon to make formal, informal, or team presentations. Emphasis is placed on identifying and developing each participant's natural communication style. The course will cover:

  • Effective Behavioral Skills: eye contact, facial expression, posture, movement, gestures, pausing, vocal impact, use of visual aids, and other skills are developed to eliminate distractions, manage nervousness, project confidence and enhance credibility.
  • Content Development and Organization: participants will use the IE Message Map to generate succinct, listener focused presentations, designed for impact and memorability. Strategies for visual support, hand-outs and notes are incorporated.
  • Handling Objections: IE's flexible response model is applied in dealing with challenges and resistance. Participants will practice answering hostile questions on information they deliver.

The 2-day format accommodates up to 12 people, utilizes extensive on-the-spot coaching, 8-10 videotapings per person, and can include private consultation sessions.

A 1-day format, accommodating up to 10 people, with 4-5 videotapings is also available.

A follow-up support plan will be determined for each participant.
