Winning Meetings

Given the increasing amount of time business people spend in meetings, it is critical that this time be spent efficiently and productively. Unfortunately in most corporations today, this is not the case. In many instances up to 75% of the meeting time is either wasted or unproductive. In order to be successful, business meetings need to be well planned, well managed, and action oriented.

This program is for any business professional who is responsible for leading meetings, or called upon to conduct any part or aspect of the meeting. Participants will learn how to:

  • Define goals and set expectations for the meeting
  • Plan the content and agenda
  • Develop key facilitation skills
  • Guide meeting progress without dominating
  • Encourage active participation and reach consensus
  • Handle problem behaviors
  • Lay appropriate ground rules
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities
  • Understand meeting etiquette
  • Open and Close meetings effectively
  • Identify specific outcomes and action items
  • Motivate action and increase accountability

Learning objectives are accomplished through the use of personalized coaching, discussion, role-plays and participative exercises, direct skill practice, and videotaped feedback. Each participant receives a meeting manual with job aids and customizable templates for use in planning and conducting effective meetings.

The 1-day format accommodates a maximum of 12 people.
