Info with Impact: Content Design for Speaking and Writing
How many meetings, presentations, or voice-mails have you listened to where,
at the end of it all, you had to ask yourself "What was the point?". Business
communications should be clear, succinct, listener focused, and interesting
with the most important points easily remembered.
This course is for any business professional who regularly needs to develop presentations, explain technical concepts, persuade and motivate others, present data, or make recommendations. Participants will learn to use Invisible Elephant's Message Map, PEARL Principles, and other content organizing tools and skills to:
- Organize and edit information faster
- Get to the crux of a message and avoid the 'data dump'
- Identify the 5 levels of detail and determine which to use
- Analyze what specific listeners need or want to know
- Set memory hooks to emphasize key points
- Structure communications for understanding and impact
This 1-day workshop is designed for 12 participants. However, the program can be adapted as a 2-3 hour interactive presentation for group sizes of up to 100 people.
